"Man Ho Man Ho Man Ho Man.... >:( >:( >:(
Thanks scratchy for bringing back the Christmas spirit in me ;-)
Ok, that pisses me off big time!!!
1) PST ~ $27
That's because it got through the border. We shouldn't have to pay that beacause the company is located in Ontario.
2) MP3 tax ~ $25
That I was pseudo-expecting. But you know what, all bets are off if this isn't UPS charging it "in case" the government asks for it. In other words, there is a non-zero probability that UPS will just keep the money. It depends if the government was ready to collect the tax or not, but it sure looks quick. Anyway, I already ranted about that tax in this forum and on mine, and I won't be buying music anymore. I have my CDs, and I'm taxed, so the net will become my friend.
3) Border Broker fees ~ $48 + GST.
Ok, this is the worst part. I also ranted about UPS on this forum. If I had ordered directly from the states, I would not have bought from someone shipping via UPS. They are just a bunch of theives when it comes to crossing the border.
So, like I said, I'm pissed and I haven't seen the Karma and the COD yet. I'll be giving tigerdirect.ca a call even before I get the package. I expect to pay at most 25$, and that's because I'm a softy and because it actually save me money in the future for not buying CDs anymore.
scratchy, did they say they would give you more that the broker fees back? Thanks a lot BTW for your posts."
